Dr. Prathilash K is an accomplished academician and forensic medicine expert, currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at our institution. He joined the institution in 2025, bringing with him a strong background in medico-legal education, postmortem examination protocols, and academic leadership.

He completed his MBBS in 2010 from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. Driven by a keen interest in the field of forensic sciences, he went on to pursue his MD in Forensic Medicine from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in 2016, where he gained in-depth knowledge and hands-on training in various aspects of forensic pathology, toxicology, and legal medicine.

Dr. Prathilash has served in several reputed medical institutions across the country in various academic roles including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Throughout his career, he has been involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting medico-legal case evaluations, and supporting law enforcement through forensic expertise.

Prior to joining our institution, he was associated with Kovai Medical Center and Hospital Institute of Health Sciences and Research as Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine. His experience there further solidified his reputation as a dedicated educator and practitioner in the field.

As the Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at our teaching hospital, Dr. Prathilash K leads with a vision of academic excellence, discipline, and a commitment to upholding medico-legal standards. His expertise continues to benefit students, the medical community, and the legal system alike.
