The Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology is dedicated to cultivating knowledgeable and skilled medical professionals. Our primary objective is to equip undergraduate students with the ability to identify, manage, and document common medico-legal problems encountered in daily practice. We emphasize a strong understanding of a physician’s legal responsibilities, adherence to codes of conduct, and respect for medical ethics.
Students will gain competence in diagnosing and managing common poisoning cases and preparing medico-legal reports for various situations. A crucial aspect of our training involves active participation in medico-legal post-mortem procedures, where students learn to interpret findings based on history, physical examination, and autopsy observations, all while maintaining professionalism with police and legal authorities.
