    Where Knowledge Meets Excellence<\/strong><\/h6>

    The Central Library of Palakkad Institute of Medical Sciences has been developed into real centres of learning. It is comfortable access to the knowledge source with built up area of 10,000 Sq.M and seating capacity of 300.<\/p>

    They contain a comprehensive collection of more than 5000 books in all branches of medical and allied subject and good collection of both national and international medical journals.<\/p>

      ELIGIBILTY FOR THE LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP<\/strong><\/h6>

      Membership offered only to the students and staffs of PIMS<\/p>

      All the readers are asked to bring their membership identity card and register their names in the counter. Without I.D card no readers shall be admitted inside the library.<\/p>

        Digital library is virtual repository of learning resources with search\/browse facilities for the learner community. Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time.<\/p>

        Delnet<\/strong><\/h6>

        The institution is a member of DELNET, the Delhi based institution. It is a knowledge gateway to access information, networked electronic resources. It gives access to 1,59,79,342<\/strong> of resources including E-journals, E-books, Articles, Institutional Repositories content through DELNET consortium.<\/p>

        ProQuest<\/strong><\/h6>

        The Library subscribes to the internationally acclaimed database ProQuest. The database includes over 4500 academic and research scholarly journals. ProQuest can be accessed only from the Central library. The database contains e-books, conference papers and proceedings, dissertations and theses, encyclopaedia and reference works, Government and official publications, Magazines, trade journals etc.<\/p>

        RFID<\/strong><\/h6>

        The central library is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) enabled library. All the resources in the library are tagged with an RFID chip.<\/p>

        Security and Anti-Theft:<\/strong> RFID gates is placed at library exits to alert staff if someone attempts to leave with a book that hasn’t been checked out properly.<\/p>

        RFID gates also takes the footprints of the readers coming to the library.<\/p>

        RFID IN & OUT system: <\/strong>All the readers should scan the ID on the scanner while you are entering and exiting the library only after registering in the circulation counter.<\/p>

        General Guidelines At PIMS Central Library<\/strong><\/h6>
        • Strict silence should be maintained inside the library<\/li>
        • Eating\/loud conversation\/chewing and similar objectionable acts are not allowed and are strictly prohibited in the library<\/li>
        • Personal belongings, bags, coats etc. should be kept in the cloak area<\/li>
        • All the readers should enter into the library clean and tidy with proper code of dressing<\/li>
        • Speaking cell phones inside the library is strictly prohibited<\/li>
