We are honored to have Dr. K. Swaminathan, a distinguished academician and clinician, as the Professor and Head of the Department of General Medicine at our institution. He joined us on 8th May 2023, bringing with him decades of rich experience and a commendable track record in medical education and clinical practice.
Dr. Swaminathan completed his MBBS in 1985 from the prestigious Stanley Medical College, Chennai, and went on to pursue his MD in General Medicine, which he completed in 2000 at Coimbatore Medical College.
He began his academic career in 2006 as a Tutor at Coimbatore Medical College. Over the years, he held various faculty positions within the same institution, steadily rising through the ranks. His dedication, clinical acumen, and commitment to teaching earned him the position of Professor of General Medicine, a role he held until his retirement.
After retiring from government service, Dr. Swaminathan joined our institution, where he continues to inspire students and faculty alike with his deep knowledge, teaching excellence, and compassionate patient care. His leadership in the Department of General Medicine is instrumental in advancing academic standards and clinical training for our students.
