Professor & Head of the Department, Paediatrics

Dr. Rajeev joined our institution as Professor and Head of the Department of Paediatrics, bringing with him over two decades of rich clinical and academic experience in pediatric medicine, including long-standing service in the Indian Navy’s medical corps.


He completed his MBBS in 1989 from Government Medical College, Thrissur, under Calicut University. He later pursued MD in Paediatrics from the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, under the University of Pune, in 1999. He is registered with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council.


Dr. Rajeev began his specialist career as a Graded Specialist in Paediatrics at INHS Sanjivani in May 2003. His clinical expertise and leadership were soon recognized, and he was promoted to Classified Specialist at the same institution, where he served with distinction until April 2022. Over this extended tenure of nearly 17 years, he played a vital role in delivering pediatric care within the armed forces medical system and mentoring junior clinicians.


With a strong foundation in both academic medicine and institutional discipline, Dr. Rajeev brings a comprehensive and structured approach to pediatric education and clinical practice. At PIMS Hospital, he leads the Department of Paediatrics with a focus on quality care, academic rigor, and team-based learning.
