Dr. Rajendra Babu joined our institution on 5th March 2024 as Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. With a solid foundation in anaesthesiology and emergency care, he brings over a decade of teaching and clinical experience to the department.
He completed his MBBS in 1987 from Government T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha, and subsequently earned his Diploma in Anaesthesiology (DA) in 2005. He later completed his MD in Anaesthesiology from the same institution in 2006. He is registered with the Travancore Cochin Medical Council.
Dr. Rajendra Babu began his academic career as Assistant Professor in Anaesthesiology at Malabar Medical College, Calicut, and Karuna Chittur Medical College. His expertise and teaching experience led to his promotion as Associate Professor at Malabar Medical College, where he contributed to both clinical services and postgraduate training. In 2024, he transitioned to Emergency Medicine, taking up his current role at PIMS.
He is known for his calm leadership in high-pressure situations, thorough clinical judgment, and dedication to training the next generation of emergency care providers. His experience in both anaesthesiology and emergency medicine allows him to deliver comprehensive acute care with precision.
At PIMS Walayar, Dr. Rajendra Babu plays a key role in strengthening the Emergency Medicine Department through his academic insight, clinical skills, and team-based approach to patient care.
