Dr S Ganesh Babu

We are privileged to have Dr. S. Ganesh Babu, a senior retired professor and esteemed academician, serving as the Professor and HOD of General Surgery at our institution. He joined us in 2022, following his retirement from government service, bringing with him decades of experience in surgical education, clinical practice, and academic leadership.

Dr. Ganesh Babu earned his MBBS in 1989 from Coimbatore Medical College, a prestigious institution known for producing highly skilled medical professionals. He further pursued his MS in General Surgery, graduating from the same institution in 1992, thus laying the foundation for a long and distinguished career in surgery and medical education.

Over the years, Dr. Ganesh Babu has held various academic and clinical positions in reputed medical colleges across the region. His vast teaching experience spans several decades, during which he has mentored numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is widely respected for his commitment to education, surgical precision, and compassionate patient care.

Prior to joining our institution, he served as Professor of General Surgery at Karuna Medical College, where he played a key role in departmental development and academic advancement.

At our institution, Dr. Ganesh Babu leads the Department of General Surgery with a strong emphasis on academic rigor, surgical excellence, and comprehensive clinical training. His visionary leadership continues to inspire both faculty and students, significantly enhancing the quality and reputation of the department.
