Dr. Vijay Ramachandran joined PIMS Hospital on 14th January 2020 and currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery. He is a highly qualified surgeon with extensive academic and clinical experience, including super-specialization in surgical gastroenterology.

 

He completed his MBBS in 2000 and MS in General Surgery in 2003 from Government Medical College, Calicut, under the University of Calicut. He further pursued MCh in Surgical Gastroenterology from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 2008. He is registered with the Travancore Cochin Medical Council and the Medical Council of India.

 

Dr. Vijay began his academic journey as a Tutor at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, followed by a Senior Residency at AIIMS, where he completed his MCh training. He has held faculty positions at Narayana Medical College and Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, serving as both Assistant and Associate Professor.

 

With over two decades of experience in general and gastrointestinal surgery, Dr. Vijay Ramachandran is known for his surgical precision, academic contributions, and commitment to patient care. His areas of interest include complex GI surgeries, hepatobiliary procedures, and surgical education.

 

At PIMS, he plays a vital role in clinical services, surgical training, and departmental development, upholding the institution’s standards of excellence in healthcare and medical teaching.
