Associate Professor
Dr. Vivekanandhan N joined our institution as Associate Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology on 13th April 2024. With over a decade of clinical and academic experience, he brings valuable expertise in perioperative care, pain management, and anaesthesia education.
He completed his MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College under Bharathiar University in 1988. He went on to earn his MD in Anaesthesiology from Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital under the University of Bombay in 1995. He holds registrations with both the Travancore Cochin Medical Council and the Maharashtra Medical Council.
Dr. Vivekanandhan began his post-specialty career as Registrar at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PSGIMS&R), where he later served as Assistant Professor. He also held academic appointments at Malabar Medical College before joining PIMS in 2022. His performance and contributions to teaching and clinical practice led to his promotion as Associate Professor in 2024.
He is known for his calm demeanor in critical care settings, thorough preoperative evaluations, and commitment to safety in anaesthetic practices. His teaching methods are structured and clinically grounded, making him a valuable mentor to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
At PIMS, Dr. Vivekanandhan plays a key role in clinical services, academic mentorship, and skill development within the Department of Anaesthesiology.
