AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH THERAPY

Audiology deals with identifying and evaluating hearing disorders associated with adults, children, or infants. The Audiology Department at PIMS offers diagnostic evaluations to people having hearing difficulties.

Audiology combines medical science with the best available technology to develop concrete solutions to hearing or balance disorders. People who practice audiology are called audiologists, and Audiologists are accountable for managing and recuperation disorders linked to hearing and balance. Here audiologists work with speech and language therapists and ENT doctors to provide comprehensive services for people with hearing disorders. The Speech Therapy department assesses, diagnoses and treats children and adults having difficulty with speech, language and swallowing.

Our panel of speech therapists include specialists who have proven excellence and experience in stroke rehabilitation, neuro-rehabilitation, swallowing difficulties and neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease and voice disorders.

Department Overview

The radiodiagnosis department plays a crucial part of in integrating the findings of other departments and to give crucial feedback in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of patients. Department have digital Xray, Doppler Ultrasound, 32 Slice CT scan, DSA equipment with facility for neuro-intervention. PIMS radiodiagnosis department provides best in class diagnostic services, quality education . Clinical diagnoses are validated and new possibilities are produced here.

The Radiology and Imaging Department at Palakkad institute of medical sciences ,Medical College Hospital has the latest equipment which helps in accurate diagnosis. (The department is equipped with 32 -sliced C.T. Scanner, Ultrasound Scanning Machines including portable machines, C-Arm machines , Image intensifier system and other X-ray units.) We strive to provide a safe, clean, patient centered , time bound, ethical care to our patients. We ensure that our facilities and services and easily accessible to our patients. Patient comfort and well being are given utmost importance. We aim to provide advanced holistic care in the field of Radiodiagnosis , standardized and accredited institute at par with global standards at affordable costs.
